Do you know the Law of Thermodynamics??

If any system 'A' and system 'B' are both in equilibrium with system 'C' then the system 'A' and system 'B' are also in equilibrium with each other.

Now when a system is at higher potential, it must give some energy to other system to come in equilibrium.
Similar is the case here. A candle gives heat energy and so this can be utilized to charge a cell phone.

Best Smartphones of 21st Century

The race of being the best Smartphone is on, even Google,Nokia,Samsung,HTC,Micromax and others all are now busy investing in smartphones. But I ask What happened to the iPhone iMafia, the Android army, the BlackBerry (BB) boys and the Windows warriors? Where was that famous deep polarisation and devotion that borders on religious mania when your personal phone or platform or company is criticised? If you’re not going to defend your own phone then what else is there left to defend? I am truly surprised and did I mention deeply disappointed? Anusha Palpita, the Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, said he allocated the airwaves to Sri Lanka's largest cellular operator Dialog Axiata for $26.25 million on Thursday.

He said Dialog, the Sri Lanka unit of Malaysia's Axiata, will roll out a 4G mobile network that will allow users to download content from the Internet at speeds four to five times faster than the currently available 3G.

Charge Your Phone's Battery by Sending an SMS

I have seen mobile batteries being charged by a charger or wireless charging like that of Nokia Lumia 920 but this is a totally a new concept where your Phone's battery gets charged up by just sending a "SMS". Buffalo Grid has developed a solar-powered cellphone charging station that gets activated by an SMS. The system can be beneficial for people living off-grid as recharging their phone is now an SMS away.

HTC One 468Mp Camera Phone on Sale

HTC_One.jpg
Taiwan's HTC unveiled a new flagship smartphone in its domestic market Thursday with revamped designs which analysts said may boost the company's sluggish sales against rivals Apple and Samsung.
The much-anticipated HTC One, which carries a 4.7-inch full high-definition screen, made its local debut following the gadget's launch in London and New York last month.

Asus PadFone Infinity: Best of MWC 2013

Asus’s PadFone range isn’t the most popular one out there, but that doesn’t mean the company is not putting its full weight behind the phone-tablet combo. The PadFone Infinity comes with improved internals and competes directly with other 2013 flagships such as the HTC One and Sony Xperia Z.

Nokia Lumia 720: Best Windows Phone in MWC 2013

Of the two devices that Nokia launched at MWC, the Lumia 720 seems to be a more capable performer and fills the gap between the Lumia 620 and 820. The company is targeting photo enthusiasts with the Lumia 720. The primary camera is 6.7 megapixel with an f/1.9 aperture and Carl Zeiss optics, while the 1.3 megapixel snapper at the front is described as an "HD-quality, wide-angle" camera.

ZTE Open: First Firefox OS Phone

This is an interesting one. Mozilla’s choice of ZTE for its first Firefox OS phone is curious, to say the least. The open source foundation is banking on ZTE’s mastery of the low-end market to deliver its first device. As such, the Open is a largely-low-end device with specs that will make Android crawl if it ran on top. However, Firefox is built for emerging markets and the OS can run smoothly on the ZTE Open’s hardware. The ZTE Open is powered by a Cortex A5 processor clocked at 1GHz and has 256MB of RAM.

Huawei Ascend P2: Best Super Slim Smartphone in MWC 2013

Succeeding the Huawei Ascend P1, the P2 has a similar tuxedo look, with a sleek, glossy black face that curves along the top and bottom to dip into points that meet the white backing. Huawei credits the infinity pool as inspiration. While there is a slim bezel, the screen approaches the edges, giving the display an expansive feel. There's an all-black version as well.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0/Galaxy Note 510: Best of MWC 2013

Samsung has officially announced its 8-inch display clad Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet for India, soon after it was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) last week. The Note 8 in India is being sold as Note 510 and not as N5100 as was announced during at the MWC.

Galaxy Note 8.0 arrives with the S-Pen stylus and several features specially crafted to support it. Featuring a 720p HD display, the Galaxy Note 8.0 joins the club with Note, Note II and Note 10.1 tablets - all with voice calling facility. The Galaxy Note 8.0 is a subtle take to compete with Apple iPad Mini tablet coming in similar form factor.

LG Optimus G Pro: Best of MWC 2013

One of the first things I noticed about the Optimus G Pro was how thin it was. Though this keeps it lightweight and sleek, it also made it slightly cumbersome to hold with one hand and navigate with my fingers. There were a lot of times when I used my thumb to click on something on the far right of the screen only to have the bottom part of my thumb accidentally select and open something on the right. It's still an attractive handset, however, and I think it's a step up from both the LG Intuition and the original Optimus G.

Alcatel OneTouch Idol X : Best Smartphone 2013

The Alcatel One Touch Idol X is a 5-inch smart phone that pulls off a neat trick: it doesn't feel massive. Thanks to an incredibly slim bezel and a big colorful case, it doesn't feel oversize -- but is the Idol X worthy of idol worship?

By phone standards, 5 inches is enormous, yet the Idol X doesn't feel huge at all. That's partly because it's so slim, and partly because the screen completely dominates the face of the phone. The bezel is incredibly thin, giving the feeling that not a millimeter is wasted.

Our Fortune Tech Products: Best of MWC 2013

With the drastic change in our technology our tech products are also changing and these products are making our lives easy to sustain, In the Mobile World Congress that ended last week and as expected, the show brought us the first glimpses (and in most cases second, thanks to a slew of leaks in the build up) of many of 2013’s flagship phones. Of course, it wasn’t all about the big-name OEMs in this brave new world of open source and we don’t mean only Android.

Water Proof SmartPhone: Sony Xperia Z

Water proof Smartphones are about to become fashion in a few days as all of us are so reluctant in caring our phones and sometimes we wash these electronic gadgets in water unknowingly.

Japanese phone maker Sony launched its flagship smartphone Xperia Z at an event in Delhi. Sony Xperia Z features a 5-inch full HD display, is water and dust resistant and sports a scratch-resistant glass body. The device costs Rs 38,900 in India and competes against the likes of HTC Butterfly, Nokia Lumia 920 and BlackBerry Z10, along with upcoming smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S IV and LG Optimus G Pro.

Budget iPhone 5 at just Rs 18K

iPhone 5 is the most popular phone by Apple till now but due to its high price its selling graph is average. Now a budget iPhone 5 is about to come to Market with a price tag of only Rs 18,000.

A plastic iPhone 5 that would cost roughly half the price of the standard Apple smartphone will be launched soon to target young, middle class consumers in countries like China and India.

Not only this, as per the officials, the state government is working to purchase nearly 50,000 notebooks and tablet PCs for distribution amongst the students.

Anil Powar, additional director education, stated, “The digital largesse is a part of the Goa government education department’s initiative to familiarise Class V and VII students with computers in order to “prepare them for the life ahead and get them curious about the e-systems."

“General category students will have to pay only Rs. 25 while SC and ST students will have to pay Rs 10 to register for the scheme," added Powar. The official said that the state government was making arrangements for purchasing nearly 50,000 notebooks and tablet PCs for distribution.

Not only this, the education department will also take an undertaking from the student’s parents before handing over the computers. HTC Redefines Photography with 468 Mega Pixels Camera

HTC is one of the leading Smartphone maker and its always in race with the other major producers like Nokia and Samsung. HTC was the phone which made Android go viral among the world. And now its also making its Smartphone better in terms of Photography. You might have already read about the 41MP Nokia Pureview-- the phone with maximum Pixels for the best photography and also Nokia is planning to have its 41MP camera in latest Nokia Lumia 920 but HTC is trying to be the best leader even in photography field by introducing its HTC one.

Smartphone maker HTC is looking to breathe new life into its fortunes with its latest product. HTC One, a 4.7-inch phone with the best display in the market at 468 pixels per inch, was launched in Sydney on Thursday 21st.

With this phone, HTC has taken a big step away from the megapixel race. The camera is rated at just four megapixels, but HTC says that does not matter because it has a large sensor, bigger than that in some compact cameras. This ensures high picture quality.

HTC One is powered by Android Jelly Bean, running the firm’s custom skin — Sense 5. This version of Sense brings radical improvements to the phone. The most noticeable change is called Blinkfeed.
Building on the features in Windows Phone and BlackBerry 10, HTC Blinkfeed lets users integrate all their social networks, calendar, email accounts and displays these with news updates. It is the default home screen on HTC One.

Another feature of Sense 5 is HTC Zoe, the new gallery app. It captures a short video, letting users choose the best frame and save it as a picture. Users can also remove unwanted objects from the picture easily. Zoe can also make a short movie from your pictures and videos; it adds background music on its own. Other additions include a new music player app that adds new visualisations and pulls lyrics from the web, and Sense TV, an app that doubles as a remote.
The phone will be launched in India in March.

Android Developers: How to Earn Genuinely with Apps

I was wondering if any app developer can earn a good amount of money with his apps. I myself have a lot of apps on Android Platform but all of them are free apps.

We all work hard to develop a app for our users and then we give it for free, what does it give us in return----popularity (may be)---- But what if we give our app as free and also earn some bucks out of it--"think"--.

Yes I am not joking its true we can earn with our free apps not by giving adds. Giving ads take a lot of time to make some decent amount of money. But here is a really great site that pays you just for downloading its sdk and integrating it with your apps. You would be thinking that your privacy and app would be at risk but feel free as this site is a secured site and I have used it and making decent income.

Here is the site http://startapp.com/rfijpur

And you make a good amount of money as your users download your app, Give it a try and tell me your response, If you have any query you can comment.

Aircel First Telecom to Launch Free Roaming Service

Good in letter and spirit. Other Telecom companies should follow with similar products and all the operators should now offer free roaming services across the country.

Aircel today launched a product that offers users one rate for voice, SMS and data in home circles and on roaming.

'One Nation, One Rate', offers one rate for voice, SMS and data in home circles and on roaming on Aircel network, the company said in a statement.

"Incoming calls while on roaming on Aircel network will be free," it added.

Aircel users in Delhi can avail the service for Rs 39, while Mumbai subscribers have to pay Rs 32, the statement said.

The price points for the service for other circles range from Rs 21 to Rs 59, it added.

"...this product will enable Aircel customers to enjoy one rate for voice, SMS and data services in their respective home circles and even while they are on roaming," Aircel Chief Marketing Officer Anupam Vasudev said.

The product will offer voice - (Local/National) calling at 1paisa/second in home circle as well as on roaming on Aircel network, while incoming calls on roaming will be free.

SMS will be charged at Re 1 for home circle as well as on roaming while data users will be able to carry the home circle rate on roaming, the statement added.

But it is well disappointing that it has removed it services from Visakhapatnam.

Nokia Planning For 41Mp Pureview Lumia 920

After the successful launch of Nokia Lumia 920, its new Lumia 920 with 41 Mp camera would have a good impact in the market. Nokia has never been known for its cavalier nature in the phone segment. Brands like Samsung, HTC, LG have associated themselves with multiple phone launches over the years but Nokia has always been on the safer side by bringing a couple of devices, then sit back and work on other devices for next year.

But this year could be different. After recently launching its Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 Windows Phone 8 device across the globe, which was quickly followed by another device Lumia 620, the Finnish handset maker could be lining up more handsets by the end of 2013, according to rumours across the Internet.

Nokia has lined up not one, but two more smartphones and one of them could be a Lumia 920 that sports the 41 MP Pureview camera, which is the most popular feature of Nokia's Pureview 808 smartphone that was launched last year.

The handset code-named EOS, is rumored to use a big sensor just like the one in 808 PureView. The phone is also said to employ pixel binning, which will result in the creation of stunning images in Windows Phone 8 devices. The handset will be aluminium-clad with square edges.

Apart from the reported smartphones, there is a strong belief that the Finnish mobile maker will not foray into the much vaunted 12.7-cm (5-inch) aka phablet segment this year. Instead the company will manufacture phones only up to 11.9-cm (4.7-inch) size, which will allow the smartphone to compete with the existing line-up of Samsung Galaxy SIII, HTC One X and One X+.

Apple's 2013 Hardware Sales On Top

Apple is still on top after its iPhone 5 release in 2012 and its statistics for the 1st quarter of 2013 has been illustrated below. With the release of the cheapest iPhone in the world the market was completely occupied with the iPhones sale.

Apple's Q1 2013 earnings are out, and the data provided gives us an insight into how well the company performed over the last quarter relative to historical data.

Even look at the iPhone 5 Price in India now just click here.

Let's begin with the flagship Apple product, the iPhone.

This is the first full quarter since the launch of the iPhone 5, and so expectations were pretty high. Analysts were expecting sales of between 43 and 63 million, and Apple delivered 47.8 million. This makes it the iPhone's third quarter ever (behind the first quarter of 2012), and over 10 million compared the same quarter a year ago.
Moving on to the iPad, Apple sold a record 22.9 million tablets -- iPads and iPad mini tablets -- up from 15.4 million from the same period a year ago, and beating the previous best quarter, which was the third quarter of 2012, when Apple sold 17 million iPads.

The introduction of the new iPad 4, along with the iPad mini, is likely to have pushed sales up during the quarter, and the holiday bump is likely to have helped considerably.

However, since Apple doesn't break down sales by model, we can't tell if the iPad mini is cannibalizing sales fo the full-sized model.
So far, so good. However, when it came to Mac sales, things are not so good any more. During the last quarter Apple sold only 4.1 million Macs, down 1.1 Million from the year-ago quarter, but the sales still beat both the second and third quarters of 2012.

The refreshed Mac line up that we saw just before the holiday period failed to translate into strong sales over the quarter.
iPod sales have also stalled. Whereas once Apple could have relied on holiday season sales in the region of 20 million, last quarter's sales of 12.7 million are down 2.7 million from the equally dismal -- for the iPod at any rate -- year-ago quarter.

We can also determine how many iOS-powered iPod touch and Apple TV devices were sold. In the earning statement, Apple chief executive Tim Cook is quoted as saying that "over 75 million iOS devices" were sold during the quarter. Given that we know that this consists of 47.8 million and 22.9 million iPads, this means that over 4.3 million iPod touch and Apple TV devices were sold.
Overall, quarterly sales for the iPhone and iPad were incredible, showing very strong upward trajectory.
Cumulatively, Apple has sold over 369 million iPods, almost 319 million iPhones, and nearly 121 million iPads since the respective products were first released.
A very strong quarter for Apple, but it leaves some lingering questions:
  • By moving the iPhone and iPad refresh closer to the holiday quarter, this is undoubtedly giving sales an aggressive boost, but will this soften the second quarter sales?
  • iPod sales are tumbling. Is there anything Apple can do to revive them, or are the days of the iPod numbered?
  • Mac sales are stalling, despite an aggressive refresh. Is Mac suffering from the same stagnation as the rest of PC industry?

Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet at Ultrabook Price

Microsoft is going to release its Surface pro Tablet next month at the same price as that of ultrabook.

The device will go on sale in the United States on 9 February starting at $899, or about £565, without a Touch Cover keyboard.

It did not announce plans for a British launch, saying it will use a "phased approach" for the Surface Pro, with "additional markets to follow in the coming weeks and months".
The Surface looks very similar to the Surface RT, introduced in October, but contains a more powerful x86 processor to run the full version of Windows 8, allowing owners to use the full range of Windows apps. It also has a high definition screen and comes with a stylus.
The Surface RT contains power-efficient ARM-based processor and runs a slimmed down version of Windows 8 that only runs apps designed for tablet computing.
Although slightly thicker and heavier, the Surface Pro therefore has significantly shorter battery life of about four and a half hours.

Commentators have expressed doubts as to whether Microsoft can convince customers to pay as much for a tablet, albeit a powerful one, as they would for an ultrabook.

“The end result is a product that does a big chunk of what a tablet can do and a big chunk of what a PC can do, but it's not a perfect replacement for either,” wrote Peter Bright of Ars Technica.

“If Surface Pro is held up against conventional tablets, the result will be catastrophic, but the comparisons with Ultrabooks aren't clear-cut either.”

Microsoft is yet to release sales figures for the Surface RT, its attempt to respond to the iPad in the consumer market. UBS this week halved its estimate for the quarter to one million.

Apple sells tens of millions of iPads each quarter.

Temple Run 2 May be Fake on Google Play

One of the most popular game on Android Platform Temple Run 2 is about to release in market, but its fake version has already made into Google plays market. Temple Run 2 has already been launched in New Zealand, and it will be made available to the rest of the world very soon. The game has been updated with new gameplay features and storylines. The landscape is more diverse, and gameplay has been made more exciting by adding new obstacles and traps.

Temple Run has become popular on both Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store, garnering a million downloads on its first three days alone after its launch on Google Play, and a total of 100 million downloads in its first year. So this made the attackers to use Temple Run for attacking different users.

The Temple Run 2 will be in the form of a wallpaper or just a virus. The suspicion crept in mainly due to the absence of its developers name and also because the game icon is hard to spot. In fact, as you open the game, it asks the user to give it a five star rating and has identical wallpapers like the real Temple Run 2 that was launched by Imangi on iOS. The real Temple Run 2 is set to be launched by Imangi on Google Play on 24 January.

Meanwhile, the supposedly fake Temple Run 2 that has been downloaded by many is actually a wallpaper and if you enter the app it downloads something on to the phone. Though I do not know what exactly it downloads, I advise my readers to stay away from installing it on their devices. one should download an app after reading full permissions and after checking it thoroughly.

"Attention! This Application has only wallpaper.! And has GAME application," the developer says on the app page of the game on Google Play Store.

One must wait for the game to be officially made available on Google Play by the developer and I will keep you updated on the same.

Now Use Wi-Fi in Flights Also

Now we can surf Internet even while flying in flight, is it tricking you.???? But its true....

United Airlines has introduced onboard satellite-based Wi-Fi Internet connectivity on the first of its international widebody aircraft, thus, becoming the first U.S.-based international carrier to offer customers the ability to stay connected while traveling on long-haul overseas routes.

Virgin America was the first airline to get the new wireless tech, and Gogo has already installed it on 25 aircraft, including planes from Delta Airlines and US Airways. The faster Wi-Fi will also be coming to some aircraft in the fleets of American Airlines and United next year. Gogo says "hundreds" of planes will have the new tech by the end of 2013.

The aircraft, a Boeing 747 outfitted with Panasonic Avionics Corporation’s Ku-band satellite technology, serves trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific routes. Additionally, United has outfitted Ku-band satellite Wi-Fi on two Airbus 319 aircraft serving domestic routes, offering customers faster inflight Internet service than air-to-ground technology (ATG). The company expects to complete installation of satellite-based Wi-Fi on 300 mainline aircraft by the end of this year.

“Satellite-based Wi-Fi service enables us to better serve our customers and offer them more of what they want in a global airline,” said Jim Compton, vice chairman and chief revenue officer, United. “With this new service, we continue to build the airline that customers want to fly.”

Customers have the choice of two speeds: 'standard', priced initially between $3.99 and $14.99 depending on the duration of flight, and 'accelerated', priced initially between $5.99 and $19.99 and offering faster download speeds than Standard.

United will install satellite-based Wi-Fi on Airbus 319 and 320 aircraft, and on Boeing 737, 747, 757, 767, 777 and 787 aircraft. Customers will be able to use their wireless devices such as laptops, smart phones and tablets onboard those aircraft to connect with internet service using the in-flight hotspot.

Free Facebook Access For Airtel Users

India's top telecom company by network is now providing exciting offer for all of its customers. Bharti Airtel would provide free Facebook access of up to 500 MB data per month for its pre-paid users till February 15. Airtel pre-paid mobile users can post status messages, upload a photo and do everything else on their favourite social network at no charge. Beyond free usage external links will be charged as per prevailing rates.

So again Airtel has come up with a plan that would make most of the users to switch to Airtel if they were looking for any new operators. Moreover the telecom company is known for its best Network throughout the country. Facebook being the world's best and top Social Networking site, its a good opportunity for all users to make use of it.

The Aircel has removed all its towers and removed all the services for Visakhapatnam. But Aircel was the only telecom which was giving the best unlimited 3G plans, its my personal opinion no offence.... But we would like Airtel and others to provide such good offers instead of giving only free facebook for a month.

With this Airtel will continue to gain more and more of its users and will be the India's top telecom operator and even World's top telecom operator

But still 4G have better offers even cheaper than 3G.....Don't believe then check it out here.

Future of Facebook in Danger

Is Facebook becoming boring for people?? The answer may be Yes or No or may be...

But the figures shows that its becoming boring now a days.Britain lost 600,000 users in the month of December.

The UK saw the biggest loss of any major territory, the figures from monitoring firm SocialBakers show.
Experts today said confusion over the firm's privacy policies and 'Facebook fatigue' from having too many friends could be behind the fall - although Facebook has disputed the figures.

It claims the data is designed for advertising, and does not accurately show the real number of users.
'Some of these reports use data extracted from our advertising tool, which provides broad estimates on the reach of Facebook ads and isn't designed to be a source for tracking the overall growth of Facebook.
'We are very pleased with our growth and with the way people are engaged with Facebook – more than 50% of our active users log on to Facebook in any given day.'
According to SocialBakers' index, the UK ranks as the world's sixth most active Facebook user base, with more than 33 million unique users in December, although the firm says that figure duplicates users who access from multiple devices.
The US tops the list with more than 169 million unique users per month, followed by Brazil with 65 million and India with 63 million.
The UK's user base would be equivalent to 53% market penetration last month, second only to the US with 54%.
Experts say the problem could be due to 'Facebook fatigue'.
'I think a lot of the privacy issues have dogged them, and that has put people off,' said Stuart Miles of website Pocket Lint.
'It's just got confusing as Facebook gets bigger and bigger, and a lot of people are also fed up of adverts in their stream.
'A lot of UK people are a lot more worried, and only want to talk to their friends. People friended everyone when they signed up, and now they regret that.'

Mr Miles said the firm needs to reinvent itself to attract people back.
'It's about relevancy - they need to become relevant and useful again.
Recent data from comScore shows Facebook's UK monthly active users plateauing at just over 31 million between September and November, falling to 31,456,000 at the end of the three-month period.
The firm is also set to make a major announcement tomorrow some believe could be a mobile phone.
The firm has sent out invites to US journalists for a special event at their usually secretive Silicon Valley HQ.
The invites promise to allow attendees to 'see what we're building' - with online rumours pointing to a phone.
However, others claim it could revolve around new mobile phone software rather than a handset.

The firm has also faced major issues since its IPO last year with many investors bailing out over the firm's inability to monetise its products

So it is clear that Facebook has reached a optimum level of users now and its becoming boring now a days. It makes the future of facebook in danger.

Choose Your Own Hardware and OS of Your Smartphones

Now Indian buyers can choose the hardware and OS of their Smartphones, weather it may be the Popular Android or the non hackable Ubuntu or popular browser Firefox OS. With the upcoming Android alternatives like Ubuntu Phone OS or Firefox OS, what if you get a chance to choose the hardware and operating system for your smartphone? Sounds fun right? Africa-based Limitless Electronics previously, launched its products in a unique way, where the company allowed the customers to decide what hardware and operating system they would want their tablet to have. We are expecting the company to do a similar launch in India and users may get to choose between operating systems like Ubuntu Phone OS, Android and Firefox OS as well.

While nowadays, companies are not keen on offering multiple options as far as mobile OS is concerned but Limitless interestingly offers users the opportunity to custom-select their OS as well as hardware specs. Limitless Electronics has decided to start taking pre-order for its products from next month.

Limitless, Micromax, Lava, Karbonn, smartphone, tablet, firefox, android, ubuntuThe company plans to include not just tablets but all types of high-end luxury devices and electronics. Limitless is known for its Re|act and Fleet brand of smartphone, tablet and Smart TVs. Limitless Electronics, run by Cameroonian Tony Smith, has taken hold of the consumer electronics industry in Africa.

The Fleet brand devices are designed for advanced durability to provide long lasting and reliable performance in all types of conditions. Many Fleet devices are outfitted with technology and hardware that offer military-grade protection against exposure to water, wind, dust, shock, and more.

Limitless will be up against the existing line-up of domestic brands like Micromax, Karbonn, Spice and Lava in the country. But it will be interesting to see whether Limitless can compete with the heavyweights as well.

With pre-orders slated to start from next month onwards, Limitless is expected to launch its products officially in March.

Secured Browsing With World's Best Antivirus

Whenever we buy a new computer either a laptop or desktop, the first thing which comes in our mind is the security of our system. Some people know it from starting so they have some good antivirus in their computer and some realise it after facing a trouble with a virus. So, many people buy a good antivirus and some are satisfied with free antivirus. Whatever be the situation one prefers buying a good antivirus for their computer but today I will change their minds with the best alternatives with great performance and tweaks. When it comes to antivirus, all the antivirus suite will be saying that they are at the top and they are having advanced feature then other and they have scored great in there security test and other test and performance.

Many people as me which antivirus is the best and suggest a good antivirus. Always my answer to that question is a question. Do you want to spend some money for antivirus? Then my next question is do you have genuine Windows or do you use any other OS? If the answer is “Yes my Windows is genuine” then half of my works is already over. I suggest them to install Microsoft Security essential and some other software’s which I will discuss below.

See if you are a windows user then install Microsoft Security Essential and if you are a Linux user then Clam antivirus these are the best as an antivirus for you.

But an antivirus is not sufficient to protect our computer from virus, malicious code, Trojan, Worm and other online threats. That’s why the additional features are included by different antivirus suites but there is always an alternative to obtain the advanced features for free of cost. What are they?

They are:

1.  A good browser protection, because mainly virus and Trojans comes from different sites which we browse. This is problem is solved by ‘Sandboxie’ software which will allow you to work in isolated environment and no site will affect your computer. Use whatever browser you want it’s ok. This software is free and available at http://www.sandboxie.com/.

2.      Block pop-ops and unwanted advertisements with the help of Add-ons in Firefox and Extensions in Chrome. The popular add-ons are ‘Adblock Plus’, ‘Adblock plus Pop-up Addon’.

3. Some more add-ons for browser protection are also available in  Firefox like ‘BrowserProtect’ and ‘BetterPrivacy’ , ‘Ghostery’ to protect your cookies and identity respectively.

4. Now your browser is protected and your cookies are protected and there are no pop-ups but still there is a problem and that is the web links, which can be malicious or non-malicious.

The solution for this is another add-on in Firefox named ‘WOT’, which will show a colour symbol on the links. It will show you red colour for an un-trusted link and green for trusted.

5. Now your browser is fully protected from malicious threats but still I would like to give you all an advice that be aware of phishing and don’t click on un-known and un-trusted links.

6. Now the last thing you need to do to protect yourself from threats is install a good Firewall, already Windows 7 comes with a Firewall which is good but for Windows XP and Vista you must have a third-party Firewall. A good one is Zone-Alarm Firewall. This is again a free software.

I had almost covered all the additional features which a popular antivirus suite gives you and this will save allot of time and money. Another thing which costly antivirus suite offers is utilities to remove temporary files, defragment your pc, etc. Alternative is there for them also, ‘Ccleaner’ a free and powerful utility to clean your temporary files and maintain registry files. ‘Auslogics Disk Defrag’ software which defragments you disk faster than Windows defragmenter and it is also free software.
