Android is again hit by a great bug named BadNews which steals cash. The bug steals cash by racking up charges from sending premium rate text messages has been found in Google Play.
Security researchers have identified 32 apps on Google Play
that harbour the bug called BadNews. A security firm Lookout, which
uncovered BadNews, said that the malicious program lays dormant on
handsets for weeks to escape detection.
The malware targeted Android owners in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries in eastern Europe, the BBC reports.
According to the reports, these 32 apps were available through four
separate developer accounts on Google Play. Google has now suspended
those accounts and it has pulled all the affected apps from Google Play,
it added.
Half of the 32 apps seeded with BadNews
are Russian and the version of AlphaSMS it installed is tuned to use
premium rate numbers in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia and
Kazakhstan.

The eye-tracking feature is
one of the many goodies that came with the latest Samsung flagship phone
Galaxy S4. And the pace at which technology is moving these days, it
was widely expected that the feature will be available on most of the
devices by end of this year. An eye-tracking software company called
Eye-Tribe has announced that it will release SDK for developers so that
the feature would be available on other smartphone devices as well.
The Fruit Ninja game being controlled by just moving your eyes, it was such a nice experience. Would really love to continuously play such games with eye tracking facilities.
According
to press release, the company has announced that it will release a
developers kit for games and apps beginning in June. The brand claims to
be the "world's first eye control software" for Android devices.

Eye-tracking as defined
earlier, lets users scroll down web pages, play games, and unlock their
home screen by moving their pupils.
The Samsung Galaxy S4's
Smart Pause feature does not track for your eye, instead it recognises
when your face is looking at it or not.
However with Eye Tribe,
users will able to scroll up and down the screen of a tablet without
moving the device itself. It is capable of playing touch-intensive
slicing games like Fruit Ninja by merely using eyes, all this has
already been experienced by folks at CNET at CES earlier this year.
The
company has informed that there are some hardware add-ons that are
required but Eye Tribe is doing its best to ensure that the tracking
software is available to consumers at a price that is affordable. One
would also expect the company to join hands with smartphone
manufacturers to adopt the software on their devices. The power of
gaming will soon be in your eyes.
Have you ever converted a
PDF file to a Word file?
If yes, then you know that almost every website
out there ask you to register or e-mail. That may not be the case any
longer. Sautin Software has launched a new free online service
http://www.pdftoword.us that allows everyone to convert a PDF file to
Word (.doc) format, images, or text. Another point of interest is that
http://www.pdftoword.us converts PDF files to Word faster than any
competitor.

The new online service built
on an artificial intelligence system, claims to recreate real tables in
Word document and converts some of the complex vector graphics (e.g.,
lines, curves, polygons) in a raster image. This innovation
significantly reduces the size. Doc file and the time it opened in MS
Word.
A PDF document doesn't have real tables. Tables inside a
PDF document in fact is a set of graphics lines. Conversely, a lot of
documents created in MS Word often have a lot of complex tables. The
engine of the online service can understand and recreate real-world
tables with rows and cells from set of orthogonal lines or text.
Another
interesting feature is that the online service allows to convert PDF to
Images with a desired image format: JPEG, PNG, Bitmap or Multipage
TIFF, and set image dpi.
Either a businessperson who needs a
quick way to convert PDF files into a more convenient format, or home
user who wants to edit PDF files, or a student who needs to bring Adobe
PDF files into an editable *.DOC format, for all of them
http://www.pdftoword.us could be a useful product.
Now Enjoy Free PDF to Word Convertor!!!!
It was really crazy to here this but after reading I was not able to share this with you all....
If you thought hijacking
airplanes was an uphill task, think again! If you so wish to do it,
there's an app for it, that makes the task easier than you expect. All
you need is an Android smartphone and get the app dowloaded and make the
most of the airplane computer systems.
Hugo Teso, an IT expert
and trained commercial pilot revealed the details of the app while
talking at the Hack In The Box Conference in Amsterdam. Teso has an
extensive knowledge and experience in both fields. He revealed that the
modern day air planes are susceptible to malicious attacks, which all
the hackers to take 'complete control' of aircrafts with their mobile
device.
Teso has developed a
software that is capable of getting installed on the on-board computer
(SIMON). He has also developed an Android app along with it that allows
hackers to have control on various aspects of the plane (PlaneSploit).
Teso
took advantage of two airplane security technologies including the
Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and the Aircraft
Communication Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS). Both the
technologies are “highly susceptible to a number of passive and active
attacks.” According to Net Security, here's what these technologies are
responsible for:
The Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast
(ADS-B) is responsible for sending information about each aircraft
(including identification, current position, altitude, and so on) via an
on-board transmitter to air traffic controllers. ADB-S allows aircrafts
to receive flight, weather and traffic information about other
aircrafts in their vicinity while flying.
The other technology
called the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System
(ACARS) is used to exchange messages between aircrafts and air traffic
controllers via radio or satellite. It also allows automatic delivery of
information about each flight phase to the latter.
SIMON
framework works in a virtual environment, which is created with software
and hardware products to simulate real life scenarios. It is apparently
untraceable after it is deployed and enables the hacker to upload other
software to the “Flight Management System [FMS] (computer unit +
control display unit)” on a plane. Hacker can then control the aircraft
remotely with help of the Android app.
After SIMON is installed
in FMS, it is PlaneSploit that does the job. The app comes with a clean
and simple interface. The steps that you have to follow include:
Please go here: It takes the user to choose locations on the map and change the route of the flight.
Define area: It sets detailed filters related to the airplane.
Visit ground: Crash the airplane.
Kiss off: Remove itself from the system.
Be punckish: It alerts the pilots that something is seriously wrong. Alarms start buzzing and lights start flashing.
