The race of being the best Smartphone is on, even Google,Nokia,Samsung,HTC,Micromax and others all are now busy investing in smartphones. But I ask What happened to the iPhone iMafia, the Android army, the BlackBerry (BB) boys and the Windows warriors? Where was that famous deep polarisation and devotion that borders on religious mania when your personal phone or platform or company is criticised? If you’re not going to defend your own phone then what else is there left to defend? I am truly surprised and did I mention deeply disappointed? I hope that was a flash in the pan, just a slow week for you – and that you’ll come out all guns blazing this week. Because it’s time to crown the number one smartphone in the world.

Water Proof SmartPhone: Sony Xperia Z

Water proof Smartphones are about to become fashion in a few days as all of us are so reluctant in caring our phones and sometimes we wash these electronic gadgets in water unknowingly.

Japanese phone maker Sony launched its flagship smartphone Xperia Z at an event in Delhi. Sony Xperia Z features a 5-inch full HD display, is water and dust resistant and sports a scratch-resistant glass body. The device costs Rs 38,900 in India and competes against the likes of HTC Butterfly, Nokia Lumia 920 and BlackBerry Z10, along with upcoming smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S IV and LG Optimus G Pro.

Paper-Powered Battery

Ya I am talking about a paper power technology. Do you believe that a paper can produce electricity, if not then read this article you will get to know….

I was really amazed after listening that Sony recently demonstrated a new battery technology in Japan, which uses waste paper to generate electricity. It is a type of Bio-Battery; it converts waste paper into sugar, which is used as a fuel to generate electricity. The current prototype battery is powerful enough to run basic music players, and in time, will be able to run mobile phones as well. The question of how to package it, with its liquid contents, remains unanswered however.

Sony’s bio-battery is also considered environmentally friendly as it doesn’t use any harmful chemicals. A prototype of the paper-powered battery was shown off at the Eco-Products exhibition in Tokyo, last week. Attendees were asked to drop a piece of paper or cardboard into the liquid (made up of water and the enzyme cellulase), and then shake it. A few minutes later, the battery powered up a small fan.

Breaking down the paper with the enzyme into glucose sugar, the battery then combines the sugar with oxygen as well as other enzymes, converting it to hydrogen ions, water, gluconolactone acid, and electrons – producing electricity. A large part of the process can be likened to how termites break down wood to produce sugar, and energy.

"Using a 'fuel' as simple as old greetings cards - the sort of cards that millions of us will be receiving this Christmas - the bio battery can deliver enough energy to power a small fan. Of course, this is still at the very early stages of its development, but when you imagine the possibilities that this technology could deliver, it becomes very exciting indeed."

So now you all should not waste paper and similar products instead you should think about this technology before throwing a paper away. If you get such technology comment what will you do?
